Accessories

Shoes: I thought about purchasing Edwardian boots, but after looking at prices, decided against it. I had resigned myself to wearing some lace-up boots I already have, but the heel is just a chunky. So, I kept my eye on ebay and found a pair of modern cream colored boots that look much more period. I'm so jazzed!
Hat:  I have a small straw boater that I was thinking about decorating and wearing.   know that the style of the time was for larger hats, but I think I remember seeing some cases where a smaller hat was worn far forward over the forhead; obviously, I'll need to do a little more research.
Parasol: If I can get this done, it will solve the potential hat problem; I recently purchased a parasol that will be perfect...once I mend the handle and recover it.  I REALLY hope that I can get this done in time.

Foundations

I had already made the chemise, corset, and petticoat before getting started on this project, so I will not be going into the details of their construction.  I really should have made a new corset (the one I have is too big for me and is losing some of its eyelets), but my time contraints make it impossible.  Eventually, I'd like to go back and make an s-curve corest to go with this costume, but that can wait.

Fabrics

For the skirt and coat, I'm using lavender linen/cotton.  I'd like to line both with china silk in either a similar lavender or in cream.  I'm thinking about adding cream embroidered netting to the skirt (where the bias detail is) and/or a woven trim along the seam lines, and I'd also like to do some embroidery on the coat cuffs and lapels.
For the blouse, I'm using cotton batiste (changed to a dark pink/nearly lavender silk shantung) which I will tea-dye to match some antique eyelet panels I purchased a couple years ago.  I'll also be decorating it with insert lace and pin tucks. (Ran out of time for lace and pin tucks.)
