I just laughed myself silly over the first half dozen pages of chapter three. If you ever want to know what teaching is really like, grab this book off the shelf of your local book store and read just those pages. Warning: it may only be histerically funny to those who have been there. Stop where she starts talking about Trey Norton; that’s where she begins to diverge from her true-to-life depiction of a day in the life of a teacher.

With a BA in English Education, an MA in English Literature, and over ten years of teaching experience at both the middle and high school level, it is an understatement to say that I've read a lot of books.

The book reviews I write are from the perspective of someone who has studied literature and literary criticism, who has taught young people how to read and interpret literature, and who has grown up in a Christian home with parents who put everything we saw and read into the context of our faith.
