American Gods

Author: Neil Gaiman

Age: Adult

Review: I wasn't too impressed with this one, and I'd had such high hopes for it.  It sounded so intreguing--all the old-world mythological gods set in modern day America.  What I found was a hopelessly pointless plot peopled by little-known and obsolete characters who are, by nature, two dimentional.  Yes, I'll condeed that they are intended to be little-known and obsolete, but that means that in order to get some of the nuances of the book you'd need to do a LOT of research.  Maybe if the plot had been a little more interesting and had dragged a little less, I might have been interested enough to go do further reading, but as it was, I couldn't wait to get away from anything related to the novel in any way.

A Christian Perspective: Sorry, I couldn't find anything in this book to redeem it.  This is definitely one to skip.
