Failed mock up #4
Grrrrrr.
I cannot seem to produce a bodice mock up that fits!
Number three almost fit, but was still a bit tight in the waist. I adjusted some seams, put together a new mock up, and now it’s a bit small all over, including even smaller at the waist. What on earth?!
Part of the problem is that whole proportional shift thing. Although I’ve lost weight/inches all over, my bust to hip ratio has decreased. It also doesn’t help that the corset I’m using is simply too small in the bust, compressing instead of supporting. This means I’m waffling a bit again on the corset. The new corset is a little better about that, so maybe I need to go with that one, even if it means a bit of discomfort; it’s not like I’m going to be wearing this one all day long anyway–it’s just for the competition.  Maybe what I need to do is finish the new corset already and wear it once to Dickens this season, see how it feels and looks–break it in a bit.Â
Regardless of which corset I go with, I’ll need to do a bit more tweeking of the pattern. I think it’s just going to take adding a bit to either seam of the side-front piece. I should probably focus mostly on the side seam, since that seems to be a bit wonky anyway, angling a bit to the front.

well, did you have a good birthday?
I hope you got the ecard…
Yep. Thanks for the card. I’ve been so busy since then that I haven’t had a chance to respond to those who emailed me. I really can’t wait for my break!
