Yet another whirlwind weekend.
I got up early on Saturday so that I could get a mock up of my bodice cut out. In the afternoon, I went down to the South Bay to help K’s friend with her curtains. (Note to self: roman shades are not a one-afternoon project.)
I got up early again on Sunday to assemble the bodice mock up and gather all my supplies for a fitting. K and I went to church, picked up take-out for lunch on the way home, ate, and then I was off to meet up with Bridget for a fitting. She really is a genius at fitting, so I now have lots of little changes to make to my pattern, but not too bad. I’ll go ahead a do one more mock up, just so I’m completely comfortable with the final results before cutting into my silk.
It was also nice to be able to bounce some ideas off of her. I had made all of my flounces the same width (I’m of the more-is-better mentality where flounces are concerned), but after talking with Bridget, I’ve decided to narrow the top two tiers down a bit, to give the skirt more of a balanced, graduated look. I also had no idea how to make the tucker–didn’t even know about it until people started taking about it on the mailing list. So, I know how to do that now. Bridget and I also took a look at the bertha, so I have some really good ideas about what to do with that now. All in all, a very productive afternoon.
Of course, that was just about it for my weekend. Once I got home, K and I went to the gym, then I watched Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (a real tear-jerker last night), and got ready for bed.
So, tonight, I have to do all the things that got neglected over the weekend.
1. Grocery shopping (both Lucky’s and Costco)
2. Clean the bunny cage
3. Clean the bathroom
4. Fold the clean laundry
I think I’ll cook dinner too. We’ve got quite a bit of leftovers still, but I’d like to leave those for K to bring for lunches. Plus, I just can’t have another night of greasy food.
Oh, and crochet! I finally finished round two of the shadow box throw. It is definitely bigger than the first one, so once I throw it in the dryer to get all the cat hair off of it, I’ll arrange a swap with Nathan.

Have to agree with you about Extreme Makeover Home Edition last night….it was great! How sweet.
Yeah, I’m looking forward to my vacation next week. As usual, Kevin is worried about not having enough to do and getting bored, but I’m thrilled to be getting away from everything.
