In an Ideal World
Yesterday was so awesome. Since we had a field trip scheduled, and the first stop on the field trip was near a BART station, I was able to meet everyone at the location rather than going all the way to school and then more than half way back. That meant that I was able to sleep in a little, take my time getting ready, and spend some time with my husband, all before I had to leave. It was so incredibly nice. He was even able to drop me off at the field trip location since it was sort of on his way to work.
I then spent the rest of the morning touring a TV new studio and then the afternoon at a science museum (well, I spend the afternoon hanging out with a colleague at the museum). By 2 pm we were back on the bus, headed down to the studio to pick up the other group. They went on back to school, while I walked from there to the BART station. I did have to walk home from my own station, but it was only a little over a mile, plus, it was a really nice day. I got home with plenty of time to sew the middle flounce onto my skirt, do the dishes, clean the bunny’s cage, and watch a movie. Not bad, eh? It was really nice to be home at my “normal” time again.
Of course, yesterday was one little gem that is not to be repeated. Today, it was back to running out the door by 6:20, long before K gets up, and getting home closer to 5, worn out and tired.
Anyway, I’m really glad that I got that work done on my skirt. Maybe tonight I’ll work on adjusting the bodice pattern. I don’t want to over plan and be disappointed, so I’m just going to set the bar at pattern adjustment–anything above and beyond that is gravy.
