On a Quest.

You know things have gotten bad when buying gas has been elevated to the status of a quest for the holy grail. For the past few days I’ve been taking mental notes on the gas prices at various locations. Now that I’m down to my last tenth of a tank, I’ve got to find a place soon. I think I’m going to try to jet out of work ASAP after the students get out and try to get to Costco before the lines get too long. A friend of mine spent 40 minutes in line at a Costco last week in order to get gas at a good price.

So, I’ve got lots to do this weekend. The first thing I need to do is back up all my computer files. It would help if I also bought a laptop this weekend so that I could just transfer files over with my flash drive–bit by bit. As soon as my grades are done, I need to turn in this laptop.

I also need to get started on my Firefly costume. I’ve got some definite ideas now, which are surprisingly close to my original concept and want to at least get a mock up done this weekend.

Plus, there’s quite a bit of yard work to do, as well as work on my studio.

All in all, a lot of work to keep me busy. Oh, and I started a new knitting project–just an afghan so that I can get some experience knitting. I specifically chose one with cables so that I can get practice at that. The little purse I started with isn’t quite done. I’ve got all the sides finished and need to block it and cut out a lining before sewing up the sides and starting on the handle. It’s actually turning out pretty cute, despite my little mistakes here and there, so I’d like to do a nice lining with some pockets in it.
